Mickey Factz Guest Blog - The Genius That Is Aye Verb
Most super-villains have dreams of taking over the world. Others have goals of becoming the richest person ever. And then there are those that take pride and joy in the fun of tormenting and torturing people. Correct me if I'm wrong but in The Dark Knight, Alfred had said something profound to Bruce Wayne. "Some men don't kill or plot for money or power. Some men do it for fun." (Not verbatim but u get where I'm going.)
Aye Verb, no matter how you may rank him on your list, is the face of St Louis battle rap. He is the catalyst. The leader. The Hero & The Villian. One of the more colorful battlers in the internet age of back & forth competition, Aye Verb is the guy to hate. Cunning, Intelligent and Wit. These 3 characteristics are what reality television producers drool over. It keeps people entertained. And that's what Verb does well. He may not be the best battler but he's quite possibly the best entertainer in this realm. (Some may argue Tech-9)
From his debut in the worlds eyes going back and forth with Lux, there was a certain swagger and demeanor about Verb grabbing everyone's attention. His coming out party against SB (should have really been Head Ice's death) was extraordinary. The "Guardian Angels duck" line is one my favorite non-URL lines ever. Poor SB. Lol. He then goes on to Hollow, Marv, Miles, Math & Big Will. All debatable. He's solidified his mark in the game. With lines that have been repeated for the longest. "I'm in the 3rd round and I still ain't crack a fat joke yet." Or "Who's gonna market you, You have the image of a Truck Driver." His performances are rambunctious and his recaps/behind the scene dramatics/blogs are some of the best ever.
Despite my opinion on his loss to Charlie Clips, Verb has ingeniously turned his battle with Clips into one of the most anticipated battles of all time. Sheer back and forth banter from twitter to youtube, the thought process of Verb has gained him even more fans and haters as well as solidifying the title for best battle of Summer Madness. Even I was caught in the crossfire of his madness. He knows how to strategically take someone out of their game. With the exception of the Clips argument caught on camera. At this very moment, he is doing whatever he can to salvage his loss against Clips by challenging Bronx battler Goodz, offering to battle for free, bartering Yung iLL's services, even taking shots at him regularly. All of this is adding to more entertainment and eyes on Verb to see what he will do next. Entertainment.
Villains will forever be here. Battle Rap has Aye Verb. Embrace it. "Because the fact still remains..." He brings excitement to an already exciting genre.
